PUBLIC ART

2016-2017

I have currently worked on 3 utility box murals for the City of Union City in California along the Union City Blvd. corridor. I chose native Ohlone indian tribal subjects to represent my designs and to help bring some historical images to the area. I had great confidence in my ideas but didn't realize how tricky it would be to paint organic forms on a square box. I am creating paintings that hopefully transform the box into something other; more like a sculpture than a mural on a box. That's my goal for the utility boxes but for future murals I would like to create landscapes that challenge our visions of nature, hope, environment, and gridlocked roads.
